How to Order
Please email us to place an order or ask us any questions.
*We do not charge travel expenses.
01
We will travel to locations within Okayama Prefecture.
Our staff will check the tatami mats' condition mats at your home if the location is within Okayama Prefecture.
02
We will check whether to repair them
or make new mats.
In the case of repairs:
If the "toko" core made of straw is in good condition, then the only thing that needs to be done is reface the "omote" cover of the tatami mat, which is made from woven soft rush. Once you are happy with the material (quality varies) and the "heri" fabric pattern that borders the tatami mat chosen based on your preferences and budget, we will make your ideal tatami mat. If you can take the tatami mats back with you on the same day, then this will shorten the delivery time.
If we make new mats:
If the "toko" core has issues and we need to make new tatami mats, we will first measure the room to determine its size. After that, you will select your preferred material and we will give you a price quote on the spot.
03
We will start
production after you
agree to the cost.
We will make the mats according to your confirmed specifications using traditional manufacturing methods that have existed since tatami mats were first created. We will adjust the size to the fit room measurements to ensure that there are no gaps.
It will be finished with the "heri" fabric border of your choice.
Once the "heri" fabric border on the tatami mat has been added, the tatami mat is complete. Paper is inserted and sewn inside to ensure that the corners are finished neatly and cleanly. We have various patterns to choose from, including traditional Japanese and modern styles, so you can choose whichever you prefer.
